How to Plan a Flying Dress Photoshoot in Santorini
A flying dress photoshoot combines a portrait session with the movement of a long, flowing gown. Santorini's white architecture and caldera views provide the setting, but the photographs also depend on preparation: the dress, location, light and guidance during the session. Here is what to consider before choosing your Santorini flying dress photoshoot.

Start With the Setting, Not a List of Famous Spots
If blue-domed churches are central to your ideas, begin by discussing the relevant viewpoints in Oia. If you prefer a session built around caldera scenery, explore Imerovigli as well. Neither village is one single photo location: the precise meeting point, route and permitted shooting positions matter.
A short session benefits from a compact plan. Moving between villages takes time and should not be assumed to be included. Ask which setting is covered by your chosen package and whether any movement between locations falls within the photography time.
Choose a Dress You Want to Wear
Look through the dress catalogue and choose colours and styles that feel like you. You can also share a favourite photograph to explain the effect you prefer, without expecting an identical frame or weather conditions.
Confirm your size and preferred dress before the session. Availability should be checked for your date; a photograph in the catalogue is not a promise that every dress is available for every booking. If you would like an additional dress, confirm the appropriate package or extra rather than assuming it is included.
Understand the Photographer's and Assistant's Roles
You do not need modelling experience. Posing guidance helps you with posture, hands and movement while the assistant helps arrange the fabric and create the flowing effect.
The final result is not simply a matter of waiting for strong wind. Fabric handling, timing and composition are part of the work. Wind and other conditions also affect what can be done comfortably and safely on the day.
Tell the team if you would prefer smaller movements, less walking or a particular style of portrait. Photographs should be planned around you, not only around a dramatic train of fabric.
Prepare for the Route
Ask about steps and walking distance before choosing the route. Bring comfortable footwear for moving between shooting positions and discuss what to wear under the dress when your style is confirmed. Do not assume that a location is step-free or suitable for every mobility need.
Public viewpoints can be shared with other visitors. A private session gives you the team's dedicated attention; it does not provide exclusive access to streets, church grounds or rooftops. Any private venue arrangement must be confirmed separately.
Compare What the Package Actually Includes
Use the current package page to compare session length, dresses, edited photographs and any included video. A retouched photograph is part of the stated edited-photo total when the package says it is included within that total; do not add the two numbers together.
Volaeri's stated delivery schedule is a preview in 1-2 days and final edited photographs within 14 days after you submit your selection. Where video is included, it is delivered with the final photographs. The quantity and type of deliverables remain those in your selected package.
